Samsung produces some of the best smartphones Android on the market but also the best OLED panels.
This, however, does not mean that she keeps them to herself. The company’s best display is apparently reserved for the future series Google Pixel 9 and the Apple iPhone 16 Pro duo.
Apple’s 2024 Pro models and Google’s entire future lineup will use M14 OLED technology. Samsung is one of the industry leaders when it comes to displays and manufactures the highest quality OLED displays with the latest materials.
The company’s most advanced screens are part of its M series of screens. A higher model number indicates a higher quality screen.
The M14 technology will debut with the Pixel 9 family, which Google will unveil on August 13. In addition to the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, the second generation Pixel Fold is also rumored to feature M14 hardware.
This will be the first time we see this hardware in a smartphone and it is expected to be superior to existing technologies in terms of brightness and life.
Apple will use M14 technology for the premium iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, while the standard and Plus versions will continue to feature the same M12 technology as the current generation.
According to a previous report, next year’s iPhone 17 series will likely retain the M14 displays since each generation of hardware is typically used for two years.
U Galaxy S24 Ultra has an M13 panel, while we can assume that its successor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, will probably also present an M14 display.
