Awaited by Daniel Hiribarren since 2011, the year of the acquisition of the private land of the Lamerain block, former headquarters of the Renault garage in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the large-scale project Bizipoz (in French “Joie de vivre” ) will begin to take shape with the inauguration of Bar Bizipoz on Wednesday, June 19. “It was fantastic! The Eiffage construction has fully taken on its role and we intend to continue at the same pace until the delivery of the apartments and the hotel part, in the first quarter of 2025,” comments the Hendaye developer. A “pride” was quickly set aside to better illuminate the contours of a “both singular and plural concept” which will therefore associate a hotel, apartments, food stores and therefore “a unique festive space”, the Bar Bizipoz.
1 A space called festive in the center of the project
The whole imagined in resonance with the new urban development of the Foch block, released on the surface by the cars, therefore reserves 700 square meters for the “living place” Bizipoz Bar. The successor of the ephemeral spaces Chez Renauld poi Le Garage luzien presents itself as “a modular intergenerational meeting place”, “agile and always in motion”, “dedicated to being open 7 days a week from morning to evening, all year round”.
State-of-the-art lighting and sound systems highlight a large stage and a “gastronomic hot spot” consisting of two bars and six food stands, in English “food korners” (1). A terrace with “400 seats” is also announced. The place is also presented as privatizable; “The only private establishment to be able to accommodate more than 600 people with a hotel offer from 2025”, promotes the press release.
2 A building called gourmet
The Hetzi group is also willing to advance without delay the proposals chosen to animate the rest of the floor plan of this architectural ensemble of “neobascolusian” inspiration designed by Luc Vaichère (cabinet LV2A). This “gourmet building base” will bring together five food brands “chosen for their quality and for their local approach” this summer. Each will have glass facades that can tilt and an open terrace on the pedestrian square.
On the menu: a bakery (Du Pain et des idées), a bakery and a counter (Naamati), a catering that preserves the recipes of a famous Ciburone restaurant (Chez Mattin), a pintxos and a cocktail bar managed by the team of the Luzian Le Pigeon blanc Restaurant (bar Le Gilda) is a wine cellar oriented to on-site tasting that will be managed directly by Hetzi (Bizipoz la Cave).
The place previously occupied by the Carrément Fleurs florists, who chose to cease their activity, will host “a restaurant”, said Daniel Hiribarren.
3 An aesthetic challenge and innovations
Already impatient to inaugurate the hotel (54 rooms) and residential (20 apartments) part, with the ultimate goal of mobilizing 75 direct jobs, the CEO of Hetzi defends an avant-garde aesthetic prejudice. He is particularly keen to highlight “a unique visual identity that will transcend all areas”. This work, co-produced with the architect Luc Vaichère, was entrusted to the renowned artistic director and scenographer, Cyril Houplain; “Known among others for staging concerts by artists such as M or Stromae,” notes the company’s director.
A nice tribute is also paid to the “lighting” designed by the “light designer” Jean-Paul Haure. A design that aims to reveal the various architectural and scenographic elements in a different way throughout the day. “Inside as well as outside”, he notes, revealing that in the evening “a sober and refined light will reveal the architectural characteristics of the facade of the building”.

Daniel Hiribarren adds to the ranks of innovations a new application that will allow you to consult, order and pay for consumption and a “cash less” payment system that is much more advanced than the one adopted at Garage Luzien. So many elements and achievements that create, he hopes, “a wow effect”. First full-scale test on June 19.
