Nothing Phone (2a) was released earlier this year and was very good for its price. It brought most of the features of the Nothing Phone (2) to a lower price, offering great value with solid performance, software, charging, battery and camera.
Now, the company is launching an improved version of the phone called the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. The main feature of this phone will be the new Dimensity 7350 chipset We have our hands on the basic specifications of the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, and here is everything you need to know.
The new phone will have a similar display to the Nothing Phone (2a), namely a 6.7-inch, 1080p, 120Hz OLED display with a maximum brightness of 1300 nits and an HBM brightness of 1100 nits. The screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5, like the previous model.
As for the cameras, the Phone (2a) Plus features the same rear setup: a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The front camera, however, is upgraded to 50MP, up from the 32MP camera on the regular 2a phone. The Phone (2a) Plus should also support 4K video recording from the rear camera.
Its battery is 5000mAh with support for 50W wired fast charging, a slight upgrade over the 45W in the Nothing Phone (2a).
Inside the device will be the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 “Pro” SoC, which is also officially confirmed. It will come with 12GB RAM, with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variants. The RAM will probably be LPDDR5, while the storage could be UFS 2.2 or UFS 3.1.
The Dimensity 7350 chip features 2 Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 3GHz and 6 Cortex-A510 cores for energy efficiency, with a Mali-G610 MC4 GPU. The Phone (2a) Plus will be available in Gray and Black with a slightly different finish, as implied by Nothing. So you can expect the familiar Glyph lights as well.
Other features include NFC, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers. The Phone (2a) Plus will run the latest NothingOS software based on Android 14. And similar to the Phone (2) and (2a), it is expected to receive OS updates for 3 years and security updates for 4 years .
